The Westerly Pentland is one of the five models (Berwick, Longbow, Pentland, Renown, Westerly 31) all based on the same Laurent Giles designed 31 foot hull, in the case of the Pentland the hull being extended slightly by a short plank bowsprit. They were first introduced in 1973. All are heavy, powerful cruisers which sail better than you might expect from their looks.

This Pentland has been fitted out for single handed sailing.

The accommodation consists of two berths convertible to a double in the forecabin, a good sized toilet compartment with stowage space opposite, and a saloon with galley, slide-out chart table, and two good sized single berths. One of these saloon berths is designed to convert to a double by lowering the saloon table. The aft cabin is accessible from the cockpit, with two berths and locker space.

This Westerly is one of the best examples of this popular cruiser and is well equipped for solo or long distance cruising.

The hull was professionally epoxied in 1995 and she has been antifould and serviced in 2007.

Safety is in mind also with her centre cockpit with wheel steering, 4 person liferaft plus her dingy/ outboard and extensive electronics.

If you are looking for the ideal family cruiser to explore our estuaries and rivers she is the choice with her bilge keel and shallow draft, then, if you fancy a trip across the channel she is well equipped and can easily be managed with her in mast sail set up.
